Removing extra layers (of skin).
Alpha hydroxy acids (AHAs) come from either plants or animals and can naturally exfoliate your skin and if used properly can help treat the signs of aging. All on their own they help brighten your skin and even your skin tone.
There are 8 well known AHAs out there today - two of which are very common: glycolic acid and lactic acid. Hibiscus naturally produce both malic and citric acid - so it’s like a two for the price of one deal with this flower. It’s really a heavy hitter in this category and when used consistently several nights a week - it can help bright complexion, even skin tone and treat dark spots.
What I love most about hibiscus is that the brawn is in the beauty with this flower. Its beautiful visually and then, when put to work, it helps aid in beauty products - filling in tiny lines, brightening the skin tone, lightening dark spots - overall helping us be a more radiant version of ourselves.
While the AHAs are the main active ingredient in hibiscus flowers - they also produce vitamin c which is another mainstay in any skincare regime that focuses on anti-aging. Vitamin C can help reverse the damage caused by the sun’s UV rays and pollution we encounter everyday.
All in all - hibiscus flowers are where it’s at when it comes to taking care of your skin.
