Tackling dry skin in the winter.

After living in Colorado for 10 years I can really relate to how hard it is to manage the hydration and moisture of your skin during those cold, dry months of the year. Even the summer can feel dry sometimes.

Hibiskus Beauty’s Balanced Glow Flower Mask uses kaolin clay as its base - so it nourishes the skin instead of fully stripping it. You know the clay that cracks and drys when you put it on your skin and it really goes to town sucking impurities from your skin? Yeah - I didn’t choose that clay for this custom formula. I chose the clay that gives instead of takes. Once you apply the mask - if you leave it on long enough - you’ll see that it really just absorbs into the skin.

My recommendations for super cold, dry climates though (as it relates to your skin) are:

  • sleep with a humidifer

  • change up your skincare products when you first turn the heat on in your house for the season

  • moisture and hydration are two different things - you need both incorporated into your regime

  • you have to exfoliate a little in order for the moisturizers to sink in properly - so don’t forget this step

  • go to bed with your face dewey (Haley Bieber nails this)

  • either drink collegen powder or take an internal supplement
